etc, etc...I have an eight year old mare that is alone on an acre. She does have a friend next door but there is a chain? You could probably charge more if you wanted. But if you're mostly in it for a friend go for it. Have them pay for the feed and bedding and I'd say that's good enough!
Most horses are okay with leaving their buddy for just being ridden on the property, it's the ones that get left behind who cry. I think it will be fine.I have an eight year old mare that is alone on an acre. She does have a friend next door but there is a chain?get a goat! seriously my girlfriend had a situation like this and the lady skipped town left her horse and never finished paying. by a goat they are abotu nothing to feed they need hoof trims from time to time and my mare likes my goats better than our other horses. if you do want the extra income search online for boarding contracts so you are not held holding the bill and you would need to call about insurance so you are not held liable if the other horse gets hurt on your property. buy a goat seriously a lot less hassleI have an eight year old mare that is alone on an acre. She does have a friend next door but there is a chain?I think you're just asking for trouble.
Can you ride with the neighbor? That way, you and your horse get riding buddies, but no extra work, no insurance concerns, and probably no problems with becoming buddy sour.
