Debit card fraud on my account?

The bank called me today to tell me that someone has been charging $5 to my account since December and that they have declined the charges. (I know they've declined them because they don't appear on my statements.) He said that they try to charge it under different names and change the name every time. They closed the account and will be sending me a new card. I am SCARED to death. How can this happen? This is a debit card I use for purchases (use it only at bank ATMs and stores [I don't use it at little unknown stores, only major chains.])

Please provide answers if you know anything helpful, as I know I won't be able to sleep the whole night.Debit card fraud on my account? Many times criminals will attach a skimming device to a bank's ATM. The skimming device usually looks like its a legit part of the ATM, but in reality it's not and its really scanning your debit card number. Then all the criminals need to do is remove the device and then they have your information. It's always a good idea to look closely at the area where you put your card in at an ATM or even a gas pump just to make sure nothing looks to suspicious. You can always go to your bank and have that card with fraud on it closed and a new card issued.Debit card fraud on my account?A cashier or someone looking over your shoulder picked up on your number and pin. they use their cell phones to take a photo of your card.Debit card fraud on my account?Doesn't matter what store you use it at, criminals can get jobs anywhere (I know a crackhead who just got out of jail that got hired at T.J. Maxx-they never did a background check like they said they would). You should never do it as debit, do it as credit so as not to use a PIN (make sure your bank doesn't charge a fee for that). Feel lucky it didn't go through, and it was only five bucks. Are you sure you trust your household, job, gym, anyplace someone could access your card? Sometimes I use a credit card just so I won't lose cash if any fraud occurs, especially online. Also, if you have a rude or suspicious cashier, make sure you get their description, and name if possible. Your bank should be able to track where this charges are originating from. Also, it's never a good idea to sign up for auto payments either, it sounds good-like you think you will never have a late payment, but that can be costly if you don't have enough in your account, also they can keep charging even after you try to stop it. Your new account should stop this since hopefully they won't access your new card.Debit card fraud on my account?I have met similiar problem before, here list of sites http://webbiz1.notlong.com/4AAbJC5
