How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?

I know you have heard of the story chain. It's when someone tells you a story and when you pass it on little details start to go missing and by the time you get to the end, the story is almost completely different. How has the bible not gone through that effect? How is even possible that the first humans on earth (supposedly created by God) were able to tell the story to all of their new offspring that created this very population? How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?First of all the bible has gone through some changes, some well known changes. The fact that it was written down is the only thing that has kept it the same general story. What you are talking about is a story that is passed down by word of mouth.

Second, in response to you edit. Yes since the bible went through changes it can no longer be considered anything but the word of man, and is not a reliable source for proof of god.How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?it has changed through translation....

not to mention the time between the creation of adam and the writings of moses were quite a while. anyone whos played the telephone game knows how much oral stories can change...How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing? You assume it DIDN'T change. How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?why do you think there are so many different religions, they are all someone elses version of the bible..or should I say %26quot;the way%26quot;How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing? The power of the written word is amazing. Once recorded, the words don't change. How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?Um...how do you know it HAS come through all this time without changing? How do you know the Bible of 2000 years ago wasn't quite different from the one we have now?How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing? The bible has gone through similar changes. Through councils, translations, versions, and more. Sorry to say the bible isn't perfect, if it was then there wouldn't be so many interpretations.

Here's another example. Mathew, Luke and john (not so much mark) each make an account of Jesus' birth. First notice that their accounts are different in areas. second, where they there when he was born? No, they heard it from someone else and wrote down their interpretations.

Don't get me wrong the Bible is a good book, but those that think it's perfect and has the answers for every of life's problems, is a fool. How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?man does not tell his brother what to write in the bible God doesHow did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?it has changed many times over the past 2 millennium. How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?thats exactly why I think the bible and religion is a bunch of crap. if I am going to believe in god then I will do so my own way. I am not going to trust a book that I dont even know who wrote that cant be proven and I'm not about to sit through a church service where alot of people there who claim to be religious but in actuality they are bad people. I had an ex bf whos father claimed to be a very religious person, read the bible and beat his children and treated me like crap becuase I didnt go to church. I dont want to group with those kind of people. How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?Greetings! The Church teaches that through the guidance of the Holy Spirit the fundamental truths in the bible are retained through the centuries. Now the Church is divine but it is made up of flawed humanity so mistakes were probably made. Regarding the first humans and their histories, this information was given to Moses and he was the one that wrote them down or passed the stories down through the generations. The Church has the bible and sacred tradition which serve to help the faithful interpret and preserve the divine truths. Mistakes can still be made but our faith in the guidance of the Holy Spirit will lead us to where God wants us to be. Perhaps as long as we still get the big picture, little errors are irrelevant.

Hope this helps. Good question!

Peace be with you.How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing? The Bible has greater support than any literature of its time. Here is a comparison between the Bible and other books that no one denies as being authentic.

First the %26quot;classics%26quot;:

1. The History of Thucydides (400 B.C.) ?8 manuscripts

2. Tacitus, a Roman Historian (A.D. 100) ?2 manuscripts

3. Gallic Wars ?10 manuscripts

4. Homer's %26quot;Iliad%26quot; ?643 manuscripts

Now the Bible:

1. There are over 5,000 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament available to us today.

2. Over 2,200 Lectionaries (Books used in worship that cite the Bible).

3. Ancient Versions ?9,000 manuscripts (largely due to the spread of the Latin Vulgate throughout Europe).

4. Church %26quot;Fathers%26quot; ?ca. 36,000 citations ?scholars say that all but four verses of the entire New Testament text could be reconstructed from the citations of the early Church Fathers alone!

Which of the books above have more supporting documents?

Homer's %26quot;Iliad%26quot; could have been changed and we only have 643 manuscripts to compare it to. On the other hand, the Bible has over 10,000 manuscripts that you can refer to.

God promised to preserve his word and He has done just that. How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?actually, it was edited, revised and re-written numerous times. guess that shoots your argument to pieces. How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing? All scripture was written by hands that were chosen and blessed by God to tell His story. In His Word He also instructed that no one was to add to or take away from the way it was written and the message that was to be delivered in these writings. He added His blessing and His power has protected the Bible from being effected like those of the story chains. It was and is intended for the instruction of righteousness. Can you think of any other way that after all these years, the story has never altered? It would take an act of God to avoid something like the story chain from taking place. Through Him ALL things are possible! How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?Well, it is obviously changed as far as translations go, because different languages have different emphasis within their language, and other languages do not have words for certain things and the translators are forced to translate it as best as possible. But One thing that everyone has overlooked is what Christians call the Holy Spirit. Basically he is part of the trinity. And his part in all of this is that he has been guiding the writers of the Torah, the New Testament authors and apostles, linguist and translators, and anyone who is involved in passing on the Bible. With God taking care of his word and guiding the people passing it on, there will be little significant change, regardless of how much time passes on.How did the bible story come along through YEARS without changing?Because God has protected His word. It has survived efforts to suppress it by the very people that were supposed to believe in and teach it. People were burned at the stake for trying to translate it and give it to the masses. They didn't succeed, did they?
